Our Journey Begins...

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

We are excited to announce that our family is embarking on an exciting adventure! We are adopting a child from Russia.  Many of you may remember that we began this same process in 2006, after a long journey with infertility and being told we would most likely never have another biological child.  After a miraculous pregnancy with Dylan, we had to stop our adoption.  After Dylan's birth, we both felt our family was complete, although adoption and the needs of orphans have remained very close to our hearts.  A few months ago, we both realized that God does not see our family as complete, and we have been called to begin an adoption again.  After a lot of prayer and soul searching, we are stepping out in faith into the unknown.

All 4 of us are very eager to bring this new child into our home. Maddie has had her class at school praying that we would decide to adopt an orphan before we had even made a decision about pursuing this.  While there are many unknowns, risks, and a large financial committment, we have complete peace about moving forward with this and are trusting in God's leading throughout the process.

In Russia, there are many children without a home or a family (as is also true in all too many other counties in the world).  Children who are never adopted typically end up in lives of prostitution, drugs, or crime.  Many commit suicide.  Our hearts break for these children who know nothing of a home, family, or the love of a mom and dad.  Many do not know about God and do not know that He loves them and has a plan for them.  We hope to play a small part in changing the future of one of these kids.

We ask for your prayers as we move forward!  We are not sure all the details of what the future holds, but we trust that God does and will guide us on this journey.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..."  James 1:27
