Getting Ready...

I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas as I wait for the 9 days until we board the plane to meet our son!  I am so excited.  This week, we worked on getting his room ready. Although, it will still be a few months before he is home to sleep in it, it brought our family a lot of joy to get it ready for him.

We moved into our new house last March and, not knowing if we were adopting a boy or girl, we left the room undecorated and full of boxes. I was ready to see the room ready for our child!
We re-used Dylan's old room decor. Painters came to paint the room this week, and last night, Brent, the kids, and I hung curtains and pictures.

Hanging pictures...
 Fixing the room...
The kids were so excited to  help decorate the room.  Dylan remarked, "I can't wait until I can love him."

The room is finished for now. Maddie reminded us, "The room isnt done until my brother is here to sleep in it."

Russia Bound!

We received dates today to travel to Russia! We are overjoyed and cannot wait to meet our son!
We leave August 4th and will arrive in Moscow on August 5th.  I was told that we will visit at the orphanage on August 6, 7, 8 and 9th and then fly home on the 10th. Please pray for smooth travels, for Maddie and Dylan as we leave them at home, and please pray that we are able to quickly recieve travel dates for trip #2 to go for court. We were told this would be around 6 weeks after the 1st trip.   I know it is going to be hard on our hearts to leave him behind to come back home.  Thank you so much for all the prayers and support!

Getting Ready...

Last week, I took Maddie and Dylan to Build a Bear Workshop to make a present for their new brother.  Brent and I are going to take the bear to him, along with some other gifts and a photo album  when we go visit him.

Maddie and Dylan had a blast.  They were in a very cooperative mood... team work at its finest.

Getting the bear stuffed...

Cleaning him up...

Getting him dressed...

Meet "Fuzzy".  Dylan has been feeding him regularly and allowing his stuffed angry bird to keep him company until he goes to Russia with us.
