Our family adventure begins...

We left Plano on Thursday and drove to Houston.  We stayed with our friends Allison and Clay and their boys. It was a great visit with awesome friends before our big adventure. 

 The kids were so excited to get on the airplane. Maddie kept telling me, “I can’t believe the day is finally here.”  It was surreal.  Our friend, Stacie O’Grady, who used to lead our lifegroup at church when Maddie was first born, was on the same airplane as us, flying to Moscow. She was travelling for a mission trip. She adopted a little girl from Moscow 3 years ago, and now lives in Austin. It was great to catch up with her on the flight. 

 

The kids did amazing on the plane and even slept pretty well. Here are some photos from our travels:

Thanks to children's Zyrtec, the kids slept great on the plane, although
Dylan's slumber was cut short when the flight
attendent informed us that laying on the floor is
not allowed.
